This is I believe my favorite restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. It’s definitely on the pricier side but the wait staff is unbelievably attentive. The food was all amazing. There wasn’t a single dish that I didn’t like. Every dish had its own unique flavor but somehow as a whole it was cohesive. Each dish was clearly its own dish and not an interaction on a previous course, but they were all clearly part of the same meal. The presentation and complexity of each dish were unparalleled. All of the wait staff is constantly keeping an eye out to make sure your table is clean and drinks are full. Julie (sorry if I spelled it wrong!) even noticed that I was left handed when she brought out the silverware which is an insane level of detail. I had to actually stop and think about if I’m actually eat left handed or not. They also paid a lot of attention to dietary restrictions and allergies which I love to see. The waitress knew me better than I knew myself! 10/10 would come back.
I asked myself. what can I say from an experience at a place... where the impossible is reality? What can I say about a creation that fooled my mind, when I believed there was an order to things, that ingredients belonged in to a group: sweet, savory, edible or not. What can I say about a place that made me feel curiosity with every bite. ... Ikoyi is not the restaurant for the fainted heart, it is an experience for those who believe there is more to life than life itself, for those who are not fixated in boxes of limitations, for those who dream, for those who dare. It is not about the origin of the dish, Asian, African , English, is where it takes you, how fast your heart beat of excitement, it is alive, ever growing and evolving. It is not limited to taste, to smell, to the touch, to the hearing, to seeing, Ikoyi is the expression of all senses at once and on their own. I dined alone and all I was able to do with my phone was to take a picture of this; A tea pot.... I will remember that in that moment I was their guest, I was treated like royalty. Thank you Chef and everyone whose 3 months turned into a life experience that was shared in their stories and in there food.
ikoyi is a new concept unique to London, word can hardly describe the only way to know is to eat there and experiment it. Dishes that transcend region and cruising dishes that crossed flavourful profiles and boarder with a unique approach to ingredients with an opening mind.
Incredible restaurant and incredible meal - hats off to Chef Jeremy. Everything from the ambiance and lighting draws you in to create a seductive welcoming atmosphere. Each dish was elevated, refined and filled with complexity whilst still being harmonious. Our sommelier was fantastic and we finished with the most incredible dessert wine. I hope to come back again soon to relive it all again! Dined here in January.
An absolutely perfect dining experience! Everything was on point, from the service and elegantly designed interior to the comfortable spacing between tables. Most importantly, the food was outstanding. Nearly every dish offered some kind of surprise in terms of flavour, yet everything remained balanced and delicious. By the time we reached the mains, it was an explosion of spices, intense and bold, but never overwhelming. While there were a few sauces I didn’t quite get, I truly appreciated the spirit of innovation behind them, and loved the sense of surprise throughout the meal. The entire experience felt well worth two Michelin stars. Service was attentive without being intrusive. I’d gladly recommend this place, and would definitely come back to try a future menu!
Came for great non-country specific cuisine, got exactly that. Dishes are flavorful, peppery, and powerful; abundance of spices and contrasting texture. Interesting choice of table lighting where it's well-lite just on the center of the table and dark where you would place your plates when eating. I like to enjoy my food in all my senses (visual, smell and taste). The formal was a little hard to achieve.
Visited Ikoyi long before it earned its second star & their move to strand temple. Loving the whole new environment - it’s warm, inviting, and effortlessly elegant. Every dish bursts with bold, playful layers of flavor, rooted in African spices. The plantain of course was one of my fav, you’d never think of it the same way again!
First time dining at this fine establishment and enjoyed every moment. The atmosphere was perfect, the staff attentive and polite and there are no words to describe the flavors, presentations and delicate combos of each of the 11 courses. To add icing to the cake, we got to meet Jeremy Chan! Highly recommended.
